Match Report
Milton Abbey School 1st XI vs  Ryde School with Upper Chine
On: Saturday, 03 Feb 2018
Venue: Away

An early morning start for the 1st XI with a trip to Ryde, with only Jake Taylor forgetting his passport. It was a slow wet pitch that took some getting used, to and after a sloppy first 5 minutes the Abbey started to dominate play. Hugo O'Kelly put in a man of the match performance as he controlled the midfield alongside Finley Lee. Chances came thick and fast, with shots unfortunately peppering the fence rather than the back of the net. 0-0 at half time. Ryde came out strong and play was evenly shared in the second half. Oscar Southwell, after not being needed in the first half, got a little too excited and wiped out the attacker to deny a clear opportunity on goal. A stroke awarded and nothing Oscar could do this week as the call fired into the bottom corner. The Abbey will look back on all the chances of the first half and opportunities to score, in a game they probably should have won. However, fair play to Ryde, winning the game 1-0.
