Match Report
Milton Abbey School Girls-U15A vs  Godolphin School Girls-U15C
On: Saturday, 09 Feb 2019
Venue: at Home

The junior girls played 2 games last week and it was wonderful to see the high level of team work, development and enthusiasm.

A mixed junior side lined up against a strong and physically bigger Talbot Heath side. The girls had been training hard and arrived, ready to compete. The effort and hard work on display was wonderful and the girls should be very proud of their performance.

Ruby and Louise had wonderful games in goal and are both developing as goal keeping options for the seniors. Our midfield outplayed the opposition but poor control of the ball meant that the game became messy with lots of ground balls. When we did get the ball up and under control, Chloe and Georgina dominated and having scored one, the game was MA's for the taking but as we were unable to keep her composure and continued to shoot high rather than low, it was easier for the goal keeper to keep us at bay. The game finished 2-1 to Talbot Heath.

In the second game, MA had the opportunity to improve on the rather one sided opening fixture earlier in the term. It was fantastic to see a positive and much improved approach from the MA girls. Once we got the ball in hand and improved our body positions, we played some great lacrosse. Unfortunately, we failed to find the goal and this meant that Godolphin's early 2-0 lead was never going to be overturned.

Thank you to all of the girls for their efforts in the first half of term, turning out in the wind and the rain. Please use the half term to continue working on your overall fitness and I am looking forward to the 2nd half of the season.
